Pico do Papagaio

The Parrot's Beak is located in the western part of the National Park of Tijuca Forest. At the top of 890 meters, one can observe in full the grandeur of the Forest, and how it interacts with the city of Rio The view of Barra da Tijuca and downloaded Jacarepaguá also impressive. The walk starts at the Buen Retiro, the main headquarters of the Park that is in the district of Alto da Boa Vista, about 45 minutes from south of the city. It's the same place where the trail begins to the Pico da Tijuca. The trail is 5km (return) and is rugged, being very steep and dangerous at the end. It should be very careful, especially if the floor is wet.
